William Wyler has had significant concentration in the field of IT and IP law, including software and Internet law, as well as related areas of intellectual property, specifically application and prosecution of trademarks, service marks and copyrights, protection of trade secrets and prosecution and defense of those claims.
He is experienced in drafting, negotiating and closing software and technology joint ventures, licensing and development agreements, distribution systems, maintenance & support agreements, non-disclosure and key employee and independent contractor agreements, web design, hosting and development, web sales and web advertising agreements, linking and banner advertising agreements; online copyright and trademark protection and "cybersquatter" claims. Represented numerous small and medium sized IT and non-IT companies in successful negotiations with many much larger IT and non-IT corporations.
He is also a seasoned practitioner in trademark searches, applications and prosecutions. He has defended client trademarks and attacked infringing marks claimed by others. He has successfully represented clients in several "high profile" matters, including: liability of ISPs for customer's copyright infringement; succeeded in overturned design patent on auto part in automotive industry and protected client from DVD litigation.
